Les Trois Mailletz
56 rue Galande
75005 Paris
Description
Lively French bar in the Latin Quarter with a cellar. The cellar stays open until the early hours at weekends with live cabaret-style acts and musicians. Great value entertainment. Food.
Louisa says: "Originally accomodation for the workers building Notre Dame (maillet means "mallet") it has secret passages in the cellar leading to the catacombes under paris which house many old parisian skeletons from the exhumed graveyards. Rumour has it that it was due to this that the pub was a key meeting place during the second world war for the Resistance." |
